Clients That Transform Your Business, Izabela and Dave | Bluewater Performance

Some clients just hit you harder then others. I appreciate all dollars and clients equally, but some stick in your memory. You learn lessons a long the way, different ways to approach business, family, life. They are the clients that transform your way of doing business. Looking back I've been lucky enough to find countless mentors and amazing people like that in my 12 years in business. They gave me their time, looked at me as a real operation, and took time to learn about how much time I put into my brand, and how we are more than just a paint company. As I like to tell my team members, we are a brand aspiring to marketing, selling, and performing integrity (the right solution, communication, experience), and we happen to do it through painting.
This summer we had the opportunity to paint for just such a client, Izabela and Dave Kvesic. They run an inspiring and impactful coaching company for business professionals and companies called Bluewater Performance, offering sales coaching, executive training, and personal mastery coaching.
The work we painted was up there with the most complex exterior painting we have ever taken on as a team. The job was fully repainting a beautiful house set in Burlington,ON almost California style. There were 3 to 4 styles of windows, multiple styles of siding, tough to reach areas above a pergola and shed. Our team actually had to go through 2 revisions on our plan to complete the project as is. 2 TO 3 coats later in all spots, from soffits, to siding, to windows, doors, rounds of touchups to find the finer details, we got the job done. We are confident we added a ton of value for our clients if they were to sell one day, or at least have a great house to look at.
The painting was a lesson for our teams, how to better instill touchup processes when the job gets that complex, and, from Dave and Izabela's recommendations, how to style a house that has lost its colour scheme over the years.
On the client interaction (and I hope future clients are reading this), they were model clients for us. Dave and Izabella let us work through the challenges, were patient on challenges that came our way, and gave me some incredible life advice on the way.
I took away from the experience what it means to establish a legacy, with family over time. Dave and Izabela are surely a power couple. They taught me about how they compliment each other, look out for each other, and envision the life you want to live.
Coaching sales and businesses is tough work. As business owners, myself included, we are the most stubborn people of all. So if you can get a coach that truly has walked the entrepreneurial path, and are equally open with their time, and kind hearted, its worth investing in them.
This post is just a small recognition of my time spent with Dave and his wise words on what it is to be a leader of your house as a man, having coffee provided by him (best coffee from a client ever), and with Izabela, her words of encouragement, on what it has meant for her to be a woman entrepreneur, and her unwavering positive perspective.
Thanks Dave and Izabela, I hope to find more like you in the future (though it may be hard).
